60 Days till the World Ends
Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2027
Malva is a typical teenager struggling with typical teenage problems: a black hole is approaching Earth and the world will end in 60 days , her father doesn't allow anyone to leave the apartment, there's a giant frog in the bathroom singing by the toilet, her brother is obssesed with dating apps, her sister is going through a metamorphosis, her mother watches television 24/7 without saying a single word and the apartment's paintings seem to be alive. To make matters worse, Malva's friend Erika has been acting weird and ignoring her.
Nothing makes sense and nobody questions it. But are things really as they seem?
"60 Days till the World Ends" is a very strange game made by Axel Vejar Dossow for the Narrative Driven Jam #6 following the theme "Magical realism". I don't even know if this game fits any known genre!

Thanks to you for playing it! : D
Now, I won't spoil the story here but I have to say it has a very solid narrative and when you are moving trough all the acts you can really feel the progression, it is really a sad and introspective game; As usual the music it's really, well, your music, very uncanny and enjoyable, I loved the monsters designs (Mom, Thing, and Sisterfly) and the fact that it is yet another great RPGmaker sidescroller.
Gameplay wise there is a lot in here, the phone mechanics are fun to check every day, the frog, the achievements, eating, all of this things add a lot to the overall experience and are very appreciated, even when going trough the same day over and over feels repetitive (as it is supposed to feel) you get a little bit of solace with all this activities until well, you know, things go literally down.
There is a few things I mentioned in the video that feel a little off with the rest of the game but even then I don't think it matters that much, at the end of the day this is an experience I could definitely recommend. The endings are one of the most satisfactory and bittersweet ones I have ever played.
Finally I wanted to ask if not using the pesticide on sister affects something aside from the fact that we get an achievement and is Milanesa delicious?
PS: I love Patitas, if anything happens to Patitas I will make sure the world ends!
Keep up the good work!
Thank you Moriko! I like this game, but here's the thing: its development was an absolute nightmare.
For this jam, we had 10 days. At first, I intended the whole game to take place in the apartment, but then I discarded the idea and made Malva leave it. The game was supposed to have monster chases and many different locations, but then I realized I wouldn't be able to implement everything in time, specially because of the 60 days. Then, I realized I had no idea of what I was doing. There wasn't a real plot anymore and I wasn't feeling inspiration anymore. I even considered to stop making the game and leave the jam, but in the end I decided to finish it. However,I was reaaally inspired in terms of soundtrack. Of the soundtracks I've created this is probably in my top 3.
The topics towards the end are certainly very delicate topics that are quite hard to approach, so those dialogs and ending parts were probably the hardest to make.
In the end, considering that I almost cancelled this game 3 days before the deadline, I'm happy with the results. Not as happy as I would've liked, but it definitely could have been way worse.
Anyway. As always, thank you for playing, the playthrough and your feedback!
Ohh thank you so much! I really like this game since it's quite different and pretty much all the characters and assets were handrawn, and of all the soundtracks I've created, this might be my favorite. I know the game isn't really scary, but it certainly keeps that weirdness that I always want to add to my games hahaha
Thank you for playing and the playthrough! : D

Axel Vejar Dossow, I can't describe this game in words! the trauma ending had me in tears! Very cool game, make some more to raise awareness for people going through with this
thank you.
Wow! Thank you so much! : ) I'm glad my game can raise awareness regarding these issues. In the future, I intend to make more games that deal with these topics as well as other ones. Thank you for playing and for your words!
All i can say is wow. This game really hit hard. It's an amazing game though, love the style of it! It's a very sad but heartfelt game and i like that :)
Thank you so much for your words and for playing!
no problem! you deserve it!
This was really good!
(Spoilers ahead!)
The two endings were both amazing. The one on the left - the one where the black hole destroys everything - it seems like a metaphor for Malva's death, given that she is then shown to be talking to Erika again. The other ending was just as good, with the whole deal with Malva and Erika's trauma and mental illnesses.
This game started out as an odd, trippy, and random game, but turned into a beautiful representation of depression and guilt.
Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback! : ) I like your interpretations of the endings!
I loved this game. The style was unique and the story was well done, you truly had me in the first half. What an experience, I hope to see future games!
Wow! Thank you so much! : D I just finished watching the videos, I loved them! Great playthrough! And thank you so much for your feedback! I'm really glad you liked it!
This is really good
Thank you so much!
Wonderful storyline! I would definitely play this game again in the future. :)
Thank you so much for playing and for your kind words! :)
This is not my first time playing a game from Axel Vejar Dossow and I have to say that this was a really fantasy-horror-like game experience and I am amazed at the creator of the game combining visual novel elements with rpg game mechanics. I liked that the design of the backgrounds, characters and other artworks in the game are all made by the creator himself as well as an amazing storyline that most players probably wouldn't expect as they slowly reach the ending of the game.
I was really surprised by how different and cool this game was as compared to the previous game I have played from the same creator. The game felt completely original and nailed the part on horror and fantasy as well. The slow progression at the start of the game may appear boring at first but everything that happened then was just meant to divert the player's attention away from what was truly happening and to foreshadow what is coming in the later parts of the game.
The art made for the game was awesome as well as the storyline of the game. It would be better if the player didn't had to walk so much during the game and maybe puzzles could also be added into the game to make the game more challenging and interactive for the player. However, if this game is meant to be a visual novel then everything is good since the story was really well-developed with amazing endings at the end of the game.
Thank you for reading my comment and I wish you good luck in your future endeavours!
Thank you so much for your gameplay video and for your review! Your feedback is amazing and very valuable! I'm really glad you liked the game! I actually considered adding puzzles or even minigames or combat scenes, but unfortunately I didn't have enough time to implement them as this was made for a game jam and I was running out of time.
Thanks again for your feedback and your gameplay!
